The Laureates of the 2nd edition of the Quebec Astellas-ICM Prostate Cancer Research Fund
The l’Institut du cancer de Montréal is proud to announce the three recipients of the 2nd Québec Astellas-ICM Fund to promote excellence in research within the field of prostate cancer. The three innovative projects were selected by a panel of experts in prostate cancer research. Each will receive $ 47,500 in funding over the duration of a year.
Here are the names of the three researchers and the titles of their selected projects:
1. Dr. Fred Saad, Medical Director, Interdisciplinary Urologic Oncology Group, CHUM; Chief, Urologic Oncology Unit, CHUM; Department of Surgery / Faculty of Medicine; Institut du cancer de Montréal / CRCHUM)
"Role of lipid droplets and lipid metabolism in the prostate cancer progression and development of castration resistance"
2. Dr. David P. Labbé, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, Division of Urology, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University
"Harnessing high-fat diet-mediated genomic instability as a synthetic lethality approach to prostate cancer treatments"
3. Dr. Francis Rodier, Associate Professor, Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Montreal Cancer Institute, CRCHUM, Université de Montréal.
"Molecular dissection of therapy-induced senescence during prostate cancer treatment".
