An evening in honor of Mr. Wener
“A cancer diagnosis is like a tsunami that affects every aspect of your life and those around you.”
This was Jonathan Wener’s motivation to get involved in supporting cancer research 30 years ago.
On April 16th, friends, donors, and representatives of the Institut du cancer de Montréal, the Université de Montréal and the Goodman Cancer Research Center came together to highlight Jonathan Wener’s tremendous contribution and exceptional engagement in cancer research.
As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Canderel, Mr. Wener has been involved in philanthropy for many years. In 1989, Mr. Wener helped launch the Défi Canderel, a fundraising event that was started following the cancer diagnosis of Susan Wener, Mr. Wener’s spouse. Over the last 30 years, the Défi Canderel has raised almost 15 million dollars, which has been invested in cancer research.
